It was during Visit Malaysia 2014 Gala Dinner Night last October 3, 2013 at Solaire Ballroom , when Philippine Airlines (PAL) is one of the sponsor and has plugged its opening of flight to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia which supports Malaysia on its tourism advocacy of Truly Asia and being one of the best destinations here in Asia.
Now on its 72nd year, Philippine Airlines has grown resilient and maintains its place as a major player in country’s aviation industry.
New Management, led by PAL President Ramon S. Ang, is committed to make the country’s flag carrier soar once more among the leading airlines of Asia.
The airlines management team was elected to steer the flag carrier last April 20, 2012 after San Miguel Corporation acquired a significant stake at 49% and the Lucio Tan Group with 51%.
The airlines in flight and ground ingrevitalized its inflight cuisine in consultation with the country’s master chefs; introduced technological innovations such as Ipads on board for long-haul flights, and recently opened a brand new International Mabuhay Lounge. World class aircraft maintenance ensures the air worthiness of each and every PAL flight.
At present, PAL has the widest route network, with 35 international and 31 domestic destinations.
The PAL group (PAL and PALEX) has a total fleet of 67 aircraft. PAL has 4 B747’s, 5 B777’s , 7 A340’s,, 9 A330’s, 12 A 320’s, 4 319’s and 3 A 21’s while PAL Express has 14 A 320’s, 4 Bombardier Q 300’s and 5 Bombardier Q400s.
Close to a hundred planes are expected to delivered to PAL within the next five years to service the current and forthcoming routes, covering Asia, Australia, China, the Middle East and Europe.
The carrier recently launched flights to several new destinations such as Basco, Batanes for the domestic sector and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Darwin and Brisbane Australia and Guangzhou China for the international sector.
The Philippine flag carrier opened a route to the Middle East- Abu Dhabi UAE, Other Mid-East destinations to be flown are Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, and Dammam.
PAL will mark its return to Europe via flights to London in November, 2013.
Asia’s first airline now provides a wide range of flight offerings, empowering a customer to book a flight based on actual needs.
