Wazzup Pilipinas, Win’s As One of the Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs of 2013

WP logo (1)

It is a phrase that has been so popular specially in the blogging community. Whether you like it or not it has been one of the popular words trending be it nationwide or even on  other nations for that matter.

It has been to early but the group has become more ripe and is seasoned with the right perception and timing, and right per. Maybe because this group does not discriminate  any newbie blogger and even the pioneers.

"Thank you Ross Flores Del Rosario for the great insight you shared there. And again, congratulations. Indeed, destiny is something that you choose. No one can hurt or affect or put you down without your consent." - Janette Toral of

Thank you to Miss Janette Toral for the short but very meaningful message along with her congratulatory remarks to the founder of

Ross Flores Del Rosario, founder of Wazzup Pilipinas, shared an article containing some insights thru the Wazzup Pilipinas blog about the recently concluded 2nd Digital Influencers Marketing Summit and the recognition of the Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs of 2013 of which Wazzup Pilipinas was one of the lucky ten.

Wazzup Pilipinas even made it at the top of the list based from tabulated votes coming from fellow bloggers. Ross also shared a bit of reflection on how he persistently worked hard for the sake of the Wazzup Pilipinas blog, and how he managed to involve other bloggers to participate in the effort to setup the community blog.

Indeed the blog may only be a few months old but it has already made quite an admirable accomplishment.

Wazzup Pilipinas is a community blog open to all who would like to contribute worthy articles that help promote events, happenings, products, places, advocacies and opinions that are of interest to the Filipino people. Its primary goal is to keep its readers well-informed and updated with current events, and the latest trends and issues, in the Philippines.

Some of the notable accomplishments include partnership with government agencies like the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) of the Department of Tourism (DOT), and the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), and even Malacanang agreed that we can repost their press releases released by the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office and the Office of the President. According to The Official Gazette webteam, Usec. Manuel L. Quezon said that they could include us in their Daylight dissemination list, while Usec. Abigail Valte agreed to include us also in their dissemination list for statements from the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson.

Wazzup Pilipinas also partnered with several events and organizations as their official online media partner namely WU Fest 2013, UP JMA ADHOC : Seek Avidity, 34th Manila International Book Fair, EduCare : A Young Child Conference, National Conference on language and Literature, Raket Market, Baby Expo 2013, Dutdutan Trece, The Best of Anime 2013, 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit, Mabuhay Restop, and many other events and organizations too many to mention.

Wazzup Pilipinas has also made several "bloggers events" arrangements for many companies and individuals who required the participation of bloggers in their online promotions. The number of events organized by Wazzup Pilipinas has reached more than a hundred already and counting.
Wazzup Pilipinas has also currently maintained a staggering number of page views reaching a peak of more than 18,000+ on a single day and an average of 4,000+ daily views. (The statistics improves everyday so this may no longer be the actual data after a few days).
Many requests for event invites have been accummulating on its email and Facebook accounts thus there is really the need to now delegate the event participation tasks to correspondents all willing to contribute for the Wazzup Pilipinas blog.

The number of correspondents contributing to the Wazzup Pilipinas blog has even reached the maximum number as can be allowed by the blogging platform. Correspondents consist of both professional and leisure bloggers with a wide range of demographics.

The most admirable attribute about Wazzup Pilipinas is that it gives opportunities to both pro and newbie bloggers to participate in its organized activities because it believes that everyone can become great if only they will be given a chance to prove themselves. Since it is a community blog, it promotes "bayanihan" among bloggers. Everyone contributes or lends a helping hand, may it be the sharing of photos, write-ups, contacts or PR referrals, contributing to the Facebook Fan Page or group page, etc., all for the benefit of Wazzup Pilipinas.

Wazzup Pilipinas believes that the Filipino spirit is always aiming for the best, but it must cooperate or work with equally talented individuals to succeed in its endeavors. We believe that there is strength in numbers, and there is hope for the Philippines if we all become united as one. Just imagine what many influential individuals can do if they all combine their talent, time and effort into one common goal. We can do wonders for our blog and for the Philippines!
More power to Wazzup Pilipinas. More power to the Filipino!

It was a light afternoon, during an intimate luncheon with friends from print, online and television media at the Paranaque Function Rooms of Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City, when the endorser gamely showed off her newfound love to the newest addition to the roster of premier quality products of Champion.

Champion Detergent, currently one of the leading detergent brands in the country, has reached another milestone in its commitment to offer meaningful quality products to Filipino consumers with the release of its CHAMPION FABRI-CON – Liquid Fabric Conditioner with Freshness Capsules. And very much timely as Peerless Products Manufacturing Corporation, the company behind the Champion brand, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary since its founding in 1963. This new product continues the company’s 50-year tradition of excellence in all its products.

And who better to help launch this latest fabric conditioner product than the Philippines’ primetime television and film queen Ms. Judy Ann Santos. “It was a natural decision for me to join the Champion family. The same reason, my husband (Ryan Agoncillo) agreed to do it, it really is the virtue of the brand’s integrity that made me say yes to it,” says the newest face of Champion Fabri-Con. “When we talk about Champion, it’s all about high quality. It’s about top-of-the-line ingredients, which is also true for this new product with its quality fragrance oils that release a fresh and airy fragrance throughout the day. And that’s what I love about it.”

President and CEO of Peerless Lion Corp. Simeon Tiu, the face of the Champion Fabri-Con Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, and VP for Sales and Marketing Jasper Tiu President and CEO of Peerless Lion Corp. Champion Fabri-Con provides an elegant, well-balanced and sophisticated profile of fragrance—one that comes from all-quality ingredients and that reminds us of the comfort of home. “I use it everywhere, and I always get wonderful end-results. Aside from softening, it also leaves this powdery fresh scent in all my fabrics – whether it’s home linens like blankets and curtains, or the clothes of my loved ones.” That’s the power of Champion Fabri-Con. It makes you feel right at home,” she ends with a smile.

Legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott and Pulitzer Prize winning author Cormac McCarthy (“No Country for Old Men”) have joined forces in the motion picture thriller “The Counselor,” starring Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, and Brad Pitt. McCarthy, making his screenwriting debut and Scott interweave the author’s characteristic wit and dark humor with a nightmarish scenario, in which a respected lawyer’s one-time dalliance with an illegal business deal spirals out of control.

“The Counselor” is a cautionary tale about mistakenly tempting fate. Rounding off this tale are people who get involved in something they should have stayed out but are eventually lured into a world where immense amount of cash can be quickly handed in a very dangerous way.

Revealed are the latest online character posters of “The Counselors” assembled to portray unforgettable characters – damaged goods yet attractive who have all ducked in unexpected moments of thrill and humor.

Counselor_OnlinePoster_CampD_Fass Michael Fassbender is simply known as The Counselor tempted to try for once an illegal way of amassing a large amount of money instantly. Although he’s received numerous warnings about the potential dangers of getting into this deal, his blind arrogance deafened him of those warnings.

Counselor_OnlinePoster_CampE_Cruz Laura, played by Penélope Cruz is the fiancée of The Counselor. Laura is a beautiful woman whom The Counselor prizes the most. Her intelligence and foresight – and her love for The Counselor – are no match for his descent into the rabbit hole, and they both face tragic consequences if the deal he has made with unseen, powerful forces, goes south.

Counselor_OnlinePoster_CampG_Bardem Javier Bardem takes on the colorful character of Reiner, a nightclub owner who brought The Counselor into the shady deal. Reiner straddles two worlds: the extravagant and decadent realm of a nightclub owner, and the brutal, lawless and merciless criminal underworld that is rapidly closing in on The Counselor, and on Reiner. Reiner appears to possess special insight into The Counselor’s increasingly dire circumstances, but he’s just as much a potential victim of a life he little understands.

Malkina, the toughest and probably the darkest of characters who surrounds The Counselor is played by no other than Cameron Diaz. As Reiner’s malevolent girlfriend, Malkina’s drive is to take control and possess anything she believes she deserves.

Brad Pitt rounds up the cirque of intrigue with his portrayal of Westray, a philosophizing and shady middleman whose warnings to The Counselor about the dangers of a world he seeks to enter go unheeded. Handsome, charming and witty, Westray is also an unapologetic womanizer.

“The Counselor” will open November 15 in cinemas from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Hotel Sogo Caters To All

It Started with a vision of having a lodging here in the Metro that will cater to Filipino lifestyle and showing of maintaining good service and quality of cleanliness in every rooms and facilities as well. They adopted Japanese kind of service and somehow become one of the models and standards of the lodging industry that makes them aware of  one of the most very important ingredient the business should have. Within a limited span of time as customers keep on patronizing Sogo Hotel makes them known and grew on multiple places along the Metro and even on provinces here in the Philippines.
In 1992, two individuals decided to come together and make use of their perspective expertise to satisfy the public's need for better and more convenient low-cost lodging facilities. One was a Hotel Professional with over 20 years experience in a leading motel chain while the other was a Commercial Developer and "AAA" licensed Contractor.
From the start, the partners agreed to adopt a Japanese theme to connote Cleanliness, Innovation, Efficiency, Courtesy, Discipline and Teamwork - attributes that would describe the Hotel and the organization they envisioned. Consequently, the name "SOGO" which means Harmony, Unity and Cooperation was chosen.
Sogo is a Japanese word that means unity and teamwork, brotherhood, cooperation and harmony. Also the most appropriate description for the Company’s burning spirit. From its humble beginnings, the hotel was envisioned to be a combination of every single perception about “being Japanese” combined with the Filipino’s innate sense of hospitality.
The personality of their new look speak highly of them in terms of symbolic description of the new Hotel Sogo Lady logo – the Sogo Lady gesture of the Sogo fan covering the mouth symbolizes courtesy and service without question; the intertwined or interlacing letters of the word Sogo symbolizes unity and teamwork; the sticks of the fan symbolizes the people of Hotel Sogo and the paper that binds the fan together symbolizes the union in a common vision of the Sogo family to dominate the walk-up hotel industry.
Today, it is one of the  most popular lodging chain in the Philippines with hotels found along several major thoroughfares and transport hubs around the country. On the way to, or right at your destination, there is bound to be a Hotel Sogo that offers you comfort, cleanliness, privacy, parking and security at affordable room rates!

With Hotel Sogo's well trained staff offering superb service you think you could only expect at pricey class AA hotels, your simple stopover stay turns into a memorable experience, one you would wish to repeat soon. We are only too happy to always welcome you!

It has Its ability to boost metabolism, strengthen the core, tone muscles and provide a certified high makes it an irresistible attraction.

The sport isn’t all that new – the first wall was created in the UK in 1964 – but wall climbing is a modern hit – in parks, schools, fairs and amusement parks.

Exactly what benefits does wall climbing deliver?

1. Wall climbing burns a lot of calories. Even moderate wall climbing can make you lose 400 to 600 calories in just an hour. This is because the sport maximizes the use of muscles in your legs, arms, chest, back and core. Think of how many more calories you can burn when you go extreme!

The cardio vascular benefits from climbing improves metabolism, reduces the risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. It also gives you more energy and lets you sleep better.

3. It tones muscles and improves flexibility. As you climb and defy gravity, the leg muscles – particularly the hamstring and quadriceps -- harden to support body weight and maintain their flexibility to reach the next foothold. Climbing requires ab/core involvement which tones the tummy, one of the most stubborn areas where fat builds up.

4. It exercises your mind.  Climbing involves problem solving, focus and strategy as you plan your route upwards. It requires a high level of mind and body coordination to respond to the task at hand. The basic challenge of wall climbing is to concentrate on finishing while conquering numerous difficulties. Wall climbing can make you sharp.

Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs

I've been blogging for a few years already and I've seen how many new blogs emerged and became influential in their own authority by many means possible through their own creative efforts.

I admire those that have managed to make a name for themselves and made their blogs recognizable by many PRs and events organizers making them in demand and most wanted.

emerging influential blogs 2013

Here are my Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs for 2013:

It is a great effort to have something like the Digital Writing project that aims to recognize new blogs that are making it big in the blogging industry. Please refer to the following article.  .

This is a community blog that gives newbie bloggers the opportunity to join other bloggers in blogger events. It allows bloggers to contribute articles to the community blog making it a great way to recognize newbie bloggers and their writing expertise.

This blog deals with everything about spa, health and fitness articles. Its the best source of information if you're looking to research on the ideal spa for your needs. A great idea and online resource for health and fitness buffs.

Professional photographs is its great feature. You'll see a lot of interesting photos incorporated on his blog article making it a great read. I really love looking at fabulous shots made by expert photographers with an eye for creativity.

As the blog name implies, it's all about this young girl's true stories. Actually, its like her daily stories about almost everything happening about her. I love reading articles that are personalized and more in touch with reality.

Travel time again with this young man who obviously loves going from one place to another and telling stories of his adventures. He also uses a great camera filled with detail and excellent resolution. Its a great match to see clear and crisps photos combined with excellent stories.

Another traveller who loves to share his adventures with his readers. His stories are so vibrant and full of color that it is amazing to read his articles. At a very young age, he can already write a book about his adventures.

Short and simple. That is how he writes in his blog. Sometimes even uses just one photo to go along with his article. However, since most online readers like me also prefer it short, so I love this style.

Online magazine format but with updated current events. Very useful if you want to be informed about the latest news. This requires the blogger to monitor whats happening around the world so it is a remarkable ability to be able to do this blog.

Cebu-based blogger that always have updated news about the latest gadget available in the market. He also has gadget reviews and events updates made possible by his Manila-based representatives who contributes to his tech blog.

This is a blog where true stories are told through letters. It is a great idea to come up with a blog that has this concept as a main idea of presenting the topics. We need to read more blogs like this.

I could add more to the list of merging influential blogs but these are my top ten.
Thank you also to the following sponsors:

Marriott’s Spirit to Serve feeds 1,000 People Affected by Typhoon “Maring”

Last September 9, 2013 I am one of the On line bloggers who has given a chance to cover and am honored to participate in Mariott’s contribution to the victims of the recently typhoon Maring that hits Luzon including their neighboring towns here in Pasay City NCR.

Being one of the representative of this place since I am a Pasayeno and being once a part of the industry in Hotel and Restaurant business , serve as a waiter during the 90’s I have seen how food has been spoiled and up to the point of being trashed due to some safety standards that has been implemented and done for maintaining safety and making sure that it is well prepared and safe to eat.

The kitchen Deparment headed by their Executive Chef  Meik Brammer, who has unselfishly prepared the food and serve it to the two barangay’s namely Bgy 191 Zone 20 and Bgy 30 Zone 5 at Propetarius near Cartimar Market.. They absolutely do the task of helping out of love and care for the victims of the recent typhoons and will continue to keep their spirit of service and a hand of care to anyone who will be in need in our country.

The recent effects that Typhoon Maring brought to the country greatly affected the living situations eof countless families in the metro. With this, the Marriott Hotel Manila joined forces with the Philippine National Red Cross in feeding 1,000 children and elderly in two barangays in Pasay City recently. Spearheaded by Marriott’s Executive Chef Meik Brammer and his Kitchen Team, Marriott and Red Cross reached out and imparted their Spirit to Serve to their neighboring residents. Complete with a huge paella pan, the group arrived in the barangays and showed enthusiasm to eagerly serve food to the less-fortunate members of the community.
