Pinoy Pride XVII: Philippines VS The World at World-class Mall of Asia Arena
Its been a long time since boxing match was being held and marked as history in Pasay as I knew it was the known Rizal Coliseum which was known on the 70’s as venue even for basketball match and other big activities as well the second venue is the Cuneta Astrodome which was being counterfeited and dominated by Smart Araneta Coliseum . This time Mall of Asia Arena is one of a kind place where multiple kind of activities such as Boxing matches, Basketball games, Concerts and many other public activity venues are best done here. It was a very cozy and a touch of first class facilities and a very relaxing ambience which you can never see on other venues.
Filipino boxing heavy weights along with their foreign counterparts were officially presented to the media during a press conference at Midas Hotel last October 18 for the Pinoy Pride XVII boxing event happening at the world-class sports and entertainment venue, the Mall of Asia Arena.
The press conference, hosted by renowned sports analyst Ronnie Nathaniel who mentioned that the much-awaited boxing event will be held at the “spanking new Mall of Asia Arena”, was well-attended by members of the press, both local and international. Pinoy Pride XVII is going to be held on Saturday, October 20 with the Philippines’ AJ “Bazooka” Banal and Thailand’s Pungluang Sor Singyu battling it out for the coveted WBO World Bantamweight title.
For the undercard bouts, topnotch Filipino boxers will fight international boxers from Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, Uganda and Barbados: IBF International Featherweight champion Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista Vs. Daniel Ruiz of Mexico; WBO World #7 Light Welterweight title holder Jason “El Nino” Pagara Vs. Miguel Antoine of Barbados; WBO Oriental Bantamweight champion Michael “Bruce Lee” Domingo Vs. Tambe Rabison of Uganda and former Philippine Light Flyweight champion Marlon “Nightmare” Tapales Vs. Ramanudin of Indonesia.
Pinoy Pride XVII shall be the first boxing event at the ultramodern entertainment and sports venue the Mall of Asia Arena. Apart from the usual basketball games and a boxing match, the Mall of Asia Arena can also accommodate other sporting events such as volleyball, badminton and even futsal.
