AyosDito reimagines local fashion with #StyleKoAyosDito fashion show
AyosDito and top fashion bloggers together with sellers all set to reveal the next street fashion collection to watch out for
MANILA, Philippines, November 20, 2014 – AyosDito recently launched #StyleKoAyosDito promo where consumers had the chance to sell their pre-loved fashion items and create the next street fashion with their favorite fashion bloggers. A few days before, these sellers and bloggers met, transacted, and started to put up their collection. Now, they are ready for a fashion showdown and strut their collection at Raven Boutique Club, BGC.
From October 20 to November 15, #StyleKoAyosDito gave social media fans the chance to co-create the next street fashion with top style bloggers Camille Co, David Guison, and Patricia Prieto. They sold their pre-loved fashion items (e.g., clothes, accessories, etc.) on AyosDito.ph with the hashtag of the team they wish to be a part of (#TeamCamille, #TeamDavid, or #TeamPatricia). The fashion bloggers were very hands-on in the campaign. A week before the fashion show, they searched for their favorite pieces on AyosDito. They contacted the sellers for a meet up last November 17. What is even rewarding, the chosen sellers met their favorite blogger not just to transact and get the cash value of their items but to form a team and co-style the collection with them. Behind the scenes: Meet Team Patricia
Patricia Prieto finds the #StyleKoAyosDito competition to be a memorable mark in her fashion blogging career as the event, especially for a website like AyosDito.ph, has not been done before. She is amazed that a street fashion collection can be done within three days while most of the items came from a selling site like AyosDito. Patricia’s advice to her team is to bear in mind that fashion is always an extension of one’s personality and that should guide their collection.
“Until now, I can’t believe that with most of the fashion items coming from AyosDito, I was able to put a strong collection together with my team,” said Patricia. “Thanks to my sellers/co-stylists who were very passionate. I hope I am able to leave an important fashion lesson to them because of this challenge. One of the inspirations that played an important role in designing our collection is to be yourself as that’s what fashion is all about – to express who we really are.”

Introducing Team David
The only thorn among the roses, David Guison demonstrated noticeable competitiveness during the meet-and-greet and initial styling with his sellers. He spent time to know his sellers/co-stylists so he can assess how to best work with them. He found it heartwarming that one of his sellers/co-stylists came all the way from Nueva Ecija just to be part of his team and enjoy this unique experience. For David, it was about having fun as well.
“I really enjoyed the whole journey of the campaign – from conceptualizing, meeting my sellers, and mixing the pieces together to build the next street fashion,” shared David. “I am glad that we had fun all throughout the process which is very important for anyone who wants to succeed. Spending time with my team enabled me to know their style and personality which helped us strengthen the uniqueness of our collection. The moment that we all became comfortable, ideas started to come out.”
Presenting Team Camille
One of Preview Magazine’s 10 Best Dressed Women for 2011 and 2013, Camille Co’s fashion coaching style lies in openness. She wanted the team to listen carefully and provide feedback. Every now and then, she asked for the thoughts of her team members to create a more inclusive environment for the styling process. It was noticeable the she took time in creating dialogues with her team how to make their collection stand out.
“I really wanted the styling process to be inclusive where each and every member of my team is heard and appreciated,” Camille underlined. “At the end of the day, the show is all about our partnership without which, our collection will not be possible. I want them to learn something new and take the learnings wherever they go especially if they want to have fashion as one of their long-term pursuits.”

Winning Team
One of the major criteria in judging the best collection is each team’s AyosDito factor: how well the bloggers engaged their fans to sell pre-loved fashion items on AyosDito.ph based on the number of fans who sold pre-loved fashion items to them, as well as the number of items actually posted as a #StyleKoAyosDito entry. The collections are also judged by how each team will incorporate the pre-loved stuff bought from AyosDito to their respective “Manila Street Fashion Collection”. At the blogger-seller meet-up, Patricia, David, and Camille inspected each item for sale and even haggled with their fans so they can buy a lot of their follower’s stuff! Because of this, the bloggers scored good-as-new and even premium branded clothes and accessories for an average of P350 only. “AyosDito is committed to helping young fashionable Pinoys to pursue their passions including fashion while giving them diverse options and value for their money. Fashion, being one of the fastest selling categories on AyosDito, grew by 111% from 2013 – 2014 and through the campaign, we wish to encourage more people to buy, sell, and celebrate the love for fashion on AyosDito to sustain this growth,” shared Rebecca Ricalde, Marketing Manager for AyosDito Philippines. “This is one of the most exciting campaigns we ever had and to see this come to life just really amazed us! Having the bloggers and sellers meet and transact in real life is our way of demonstrating how online selling and buying is easy, convenient, and safe.”

Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream takes Adventure to New lengths with Magical moments from Disney’s newest Fairytales and Timeless Classics
Feld Entertainment’s newest Disney On Ice production is a celebration of royal proportions
featuring Tangled, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Princess and the Frog and Cinderella
The much-awaited Disney on Ice season is back at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on December 25 to January 4! This year, Pinoys are invited to join Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald and Goofy as they follow four of Disney’s most inspirational princesses on their adventures to fulfill their dreams in Feld Entertainment’s newest ice spectacular, Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream. Combining the contemporary stories of two modern-day princesses, Rapunzel and Tiana, with the classic elegance of Cinderella and Snow White, Dare to Dream whisks audiences away on exciting journeys where dreams really do come true.
Audiences begin their magical, musical voyage in New Orleans celebrating the story of The Princess and the Frog with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, and then escape into the enchanted forest with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The trip continues to Cinderella’s kingdom in her search for true love and follows Rapunzel as she discovers the world beyond her tower on her quest to see the floating lanterns. The Disney Princesses then come together for the first time on ice during the finale, to welcome Rapunzel into their royal court in the ultimate princess experience.
“There’s something within each of the stories of Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, Cinderella, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs that speaks to women and girls and families around the world,” says Producer Nicole Feld. “Each of these princesses is searching for what truly makes them happy. And I think that’s very reflective of what audiences are like today.”
“This show is different from anything we’ve ever done, and we’re excitedabout all the exhilarating aspects we’ve included in this production,” says Producer Juliette Feld. “Thisis the first time Rapunzel is featured on the ice with her tremendous amount of hair. And new this year, the Princess who started it all, Snow White, will be joining the show with the Seven Dwarfs, bringing more magic than ever before.”
In adapting Tangled to the ice for the first time, Director Patty Vincent was challenged with how to convey all of Rapunzel’s hair without interfering with the skating. During the segment, 2,000 feet of silk representing Rapunzel’s magical, golden tresses winds throughout the rafters of the arena and drapes down to the ice for use in a heart-stopping aerial act never before seen in a Disney On Ice production. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider escape the tower, flying 25 feet up in the air and performing daring acrobatics.
“The performers trained for six weeks just to build their upper body strength, because skaters use very different muscles when ice skating,” says Vincent. “It works perfectly on the ice because they don’t have to run; they just skate, and they’re lifted into the air and begin a gorgeous athletic act.”
Under the direction of Choreographer Cindy Stuart and Aerial Trainer Anna Kaminnik, the performers mastered the blend of ice and aerial choreography in which Rapunzel and Flynn fly above the arena floor and slowly descend to the ice in a fluid motion, creating a feeling of constant movement.
Stuart was able to contrast the beauty of the aerial act by showcasing the athleticism of the skaters when Rapunzel and Flynnstop at the Snuggly Duckling tavernon their way to see the lanterns.During this energetic sequence, the pub thugs break into a rowdy show tune medley, and the scene turns into a trick section with performers doing cartwheels, handstands, jumps and leaps on the ice and the props.
The adventurous nature of Rapunzel’s story allowed Costume Designer Ivan Ingermann to incorporate unusual fabrics and silhouettes into his costumes. Rapunzel’s world is mainly full of rich colors and textures and romantic silhouettes. However, during the Snuggly Duckling segment, Ingermann designed costumes for the pub thugs using faux fur and faux leather, materials not normally seen in an ice show.
Another distinctive design element ofDare to Dream is the revolving set, an idea conceived by Scenic Designer Stan Meyer. By designing a rotating piecethat transforms to specifically fit each of the unique settings of the stories, Meyer was able to create one major centerpiece with four entirely different environments. When the set morphs into Rapunzel’s forest, a paneled backdrop of pastel flora and butterflies opens and a majestic tower slowly emerges, rising from the ice as golden hair falls from the window.
Lighting Designer Peter Morse incorporated these same pastels and royal colors by surrounding the audience in rich shades of purple, a prominent color in Rapunzel’s world. When Rapunzel and Flynn Rider finally reach the end of their journey, the entire arena goes dark as a single lantern slowly floats up into the air, and suddenly, lanterns illuminate the sky above the audience.
“When we create Disney On Ice, what we’re hoping to do, aside from bringing families together and telling great stories, is create memorable moments,” says Producer Kenneth Feld. “In the Tangled sequence, there is one moment that is absolutely unforgettable. At every show, one special child is picked to launch the first lantern. All you see is the one lantern that goes up, and as soon as it reaches the top, all the other lanterns light up the arena. It’s breathtaking.”
Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
In contrast to the colorful and playful world of Rapunzel, to set the mood for the story of Snow White, the lighting had to take on a darker and more mysterious quality. As the story begins, the lighting dims and a thin layer of fog fills the ice. Soon a flash of light and dark shadows appear signaling the arrival of the Evil Queen. When it comes time for Snow White to flee into the magical forest for protection from the Queen, Morse focused on the use of black lights to highlight her frantic pace. As she finallyescapes the forest and arrives at the door of the Dwarf’s cottage, the ice is bathed in rich golden colors, signaling the calm after the storm and her newfound safety.
Being the Princess who started it all, the costume design for Snow White is a classic silhouette that will be easily recognizable by audiences young and old. The traditional yellow and blue dress was made for swift, yet graceful, movement on the ice, twirling and flowing as Snow Whiteglides through her world.
Audiences will also be delighted to see all Seven Dwarfs make an appearance in Dare to Dream, each outfit as uniqueas the Dwarf wearing it.
Walt Disney’s Cinderella
As the story shifts to the romantic tale of Cinderella, a glittering purple and blue castle stands majestically in the background with a white and gold grand butterfly staircase framing the clock tower. Cinderella is joined by ball attendants regally dressed in bright, colorful gowns sparkling with the help of sequins and glitter. Below the castle, glisteningstars and swirls of soft blues and pinks fill the ice when Cinderella skates to classic songs such as “So This is Love” and “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.” In addition to the pair skating and elegant ice dancing showcased in Dare to Dream, Cinderella features synchronized skatingby a team of 20 performers portraying the palace guards searching for the owner of the glass slipper. More than half the cast performs this fast-paced and complex precision number, creating lines, formations and constantly moving patterns on the ice.
Light-heartedelements throughout the segment provide a contrast from the romanticism and precision of many of the scenes. Cinderella’s mice friends make an appearance singing and dancing while they make her a dressfor the ball. Cinderella’s stepsisters are on hand as well, amusing the audience with their comical antics.
Lighting plays an important role in telling Cinderella’s story, and a key component of the lighting design is the ability to feature the skaters themselves. “We have to light the whole scene to keep it bright and beautiful,” says Morse, “while also highlighting the characters.”
With a swish of her magic wand, a flash of light and those three little words, the Fairy Godmother transforms Cinderella beforethe ball. From a cloud of smoke, a sparkling carriage emerges, drawn by four white horses and glistening like a crystal ball in the darkness, creating a magical moment asCinderella rides toward the castle. Later, as Prince Charming and the Duke ponder the identity of the beautiful girl from the ball, the ice is dark, save for the moonlight streaming through tall windows on either side of the ice and forming a dark hallway between them, an illusion created by gobos and spotlights.
Disney’s The Princess and the Frog
Popular color palettes and designs from the Harlem Renaissance became a major source of inspiration for The Princess and the Frog. When Dare to Dream opens in New Orleans, vibrant orange and golden yellow light fills the arena, matching the bright colors of the costumes inspired by the period. Set against a French Quarter backdrop painted in rich reds, purples and greens, flappers and banjo players revel on a balcony while page boys and other townsfolk dance on the ice below, creating a multilayered street party. The opening number, “When the Saints go Marching In,” combines jazz-influenced choreography and the Charleston to create a vivid and energetic street scene.
Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream seamlessly merges the classic with the new, maintaining the timelessness of some of the most cherished stories of all time, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, while also incorporating popular songs and unforgettable scenes from Disney’s newest fairytales, Tangled and The Princess and the Frog. From the lighting and scenery to the music, choreography and costumes, each element of Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream magically combines to create a memorable show for the entire family.

Looking Beyond the Glass Surface
Glasstech Asia 2014 to showcase innovative glass trends for real estate trade professionals
MANILA, Philippines- November 11, 2014: The Philippine construction boom continues with the total number of construction permits rising from 29,424 to 32,7291 in the second quarter in 2014. Much of this real estate growth is driven by the expanding outsourcing sector and multinational companies. Construction spend for 2011-2016 is estimated to reach $70 billion, a large chunk of which will go into glass products for housing and building projects. The surging demand for glass products presents a timely backdrop for Glasstech Asia 2014 to be held November 25-27, 2014 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. Now on its 12th staging, the annual Glasstech Asia exhibit will feature a wide array of glass products for green architecture, and sustainable housing and building materials which are gaining widespread local adoption.
"Since its discovery 4000 years ago, glass has since evolved into one of the most versatile and amazing materials and its continuous use also armed us, the architects and designers, with a medium to fully express our architectural artistry to the fullest," said Ar. Leah Dela Rosa, Executive Director, Professional Development Commission, United Architects of the Philippines.
Employees and households in offices and residences that use glass architecture can expect more savings in energy costs. Glass admits natural light, reducing the need for electrical lighting. Additionally, glass allows an area to cool faster without relying too much on air conditioning.
“Green architecture creates efficient energy use in buildings by maximizing natural daylight and offering better visibility, improved thermal and indoor comfort. The proper selection of glass systems in building design minimizes solar heat and allows high visible light transmittance, translating to healthier office environments conducive to workplace productivity, as well as power savings and healthier indoor living for building residents due to improved thermal and acoustic comfort,” said Edgar Sabidong, board member, Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC).
Renato R. Ermita, national president, Flat Glass Alliance of the Philippines, Inc. (FGAPI ) adds, “With investors, developers, and tenants considering environment design, energy management practices, and green architecture certifications in assessing the value of a business property, glass has become a reliable construction material due to its energy efficient properties.”
Glasstech Asia 2014 will be featuring 138 exhibitors from 18 countries, with 8 country pavilions from Singapore, Italy, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Germany, China, Malaysia, and the Philippines, offering various glass products to help stakeholders make good decisions in building and housing design. It expects the number of attending trade professionals to reach 4,000.
During the three-day event, speakers from related organizations will also be sharing their insights to provide trade professionals with a better perspective on glass and green architecture trends. Glasstech Asia 2014 will concurrently feature Hollow Glass Asia 2014, a specialized international exhibition for the hollow glass manufacturing, machinery, equipment and glass products industry, and Glass Accessories Asia 2014, an international exhibition for glass accessories and products.
“Today’s processing technology allows glass to be reengineered, for better ultraviolet light protection and heat insulation. We hope Glasstech Asia 2014 will serve as trade professionals’ passport to the intricate world of glass by offering a wide array of glass products to suit various design preferences,” said Lin Rong Mou, President, Philippine Chamber of Glass & Aluminum Industries, Inc. (PCGAII).
Edward Liu, PBM, Group Managing Director, Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte. Ltd., said, “Glass is shaping the local design landscape, addressing stakeholders’ demand for aesthetics and green architecture. Glasstech Asia 2014 aims to connect global glass industry players to local architects, builders, contractors, developers, engineers, and facility managers, and showcase glass trends like
self-cleaning glass products and insulated glazing glass, to help trade professionals in their design decisions.”

The GaleĆ³n: a New Museum to rise in Manila
Last Tuesday November 11, 2013 , a press con ground breaking of a new museum held in the place where it will be build named Galeon Museum at SM MOA grounds Manila.
17th -18th century Bronze Cast, Signal cannon - Used to signal the sighting of ships, whether friend or foe.
The SM Group of Companies in collaboration with Museo Del GaleĆ³n, Inc. held today the ground-breaking ceremony for The Galeon, enivisioned to be a worthy addition to the community of museums, to open in late 2015.
The Manila – Acapulco Galleon Museum will be a cultural facility with an 8,000 sqm. Total exhibition space, featuring a full-scale reproduction of a magnificent galleon. Unlike all other galleon reproductions attempted before in the Philippines, the new museum bases its reproduction on a very precise set of naval architectural plan published in 18th century Manila.
“What was then just an idea is now fast becoming a reality,” said Hans T. Sy, president of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. When briefed on the project, Hans T. Sy graciously offered a beachfront location in the Mall of Asia complex as the site for the museum. The support given is towards facilitating the circulation of vital knowledge of the first globalization of trade and commerce, in which the Philippines and Mexico were polar points of activity.
The GaleĆ³n will convey accurate, exciting information that will throw light on the roots of today’s banking, shipping, commerce, and cultural exchange in the Pacific region. Silver, gold, and potatoes from the Americas and wine, tools, and furniture from Europe were traded for Asian silk, spices, and ceramics in global circuits that are still used today by more than 40 modern nations.
Bronze coins were brought to Manila from Mexico and Peru for the Asian trade.
The 300 year exchange produced extraordinary cultural change on both sides of the Pacific. Notably, the thousand year old tradition of boat-building in the Philippine archipelago transitioned into ship-building according to European design.
When Madame Margarita Zavala, spouse of former Mexican President Felipe CalderĆ³n, visited the Philippines in 2011, she enthusiastically endorsed the plan to build a galleon museum in Manila.
His Excellency Ambassador Julio Camarena of Mexico and Hans T. Sy initiated the ground-breaking ceremony at the Mall of Asia. Also present was Pasay City Mayor, the Honorable Antonio G. Calixto. The program featured Ms. Marian Roces, Lead Curator of TAO Inc. as the keynote speaker, and Senator Edgardo J. Angara who is also a member of Museo Del GaleĆ³n, Inc.
Upon completion, The GALEĆN will command magnificent views of the glittering Manila Bay. Construction will begin November 2014 with completion expected on the last quarter of 2015.

Marriot Manila’s Christmas Tree Lights Up for the Holiday Season
With a flick of a switch, the holiday season officially begins at Marriot Hotel Manila. Helping light the tree is one of the well-known celebrity families today, Richard Guiterrez and Sarah Lahbati with adorable Baby Zion Gutierrez.
Last Saturday , As soon as the lights begin to sparkle, a burst of harmonious angelic voices echoed through the lobby courtesy of Himig RoseƱa, the choral ambassador of Colegio de Santa Rosa-Makati. Followed by a grand entrance of Santa Claus, where kids excitedly lined up to whisper their Christmas wish and receive their early present.
Joining the gleaming decorations is the life size gingerbread train parked at the center of the lobby, filled with Christmas Treats such as Chocolate St. Nicholas (P300), Big Belly Chocolate Santa (P310), Chocolate Santa in Sleigh (P340), Chocolate Angel (P320), Gingerbread Cookie Man (P120), Gingerbread Sweet Nutcracker (P300), Marriott Gingerbread House (P600), White Chocolate Disc with Dried Fruits and Nuts (P380), Milk Chocolate Disc with Dried Fruits and Nuts (P380), Chocolate Coated Pretzel Sticks (P500), German Coconut Macaroons (P500), Almond Sliver Christmas Tree (P480), Traditional Dark Fruit Cake (P550), Lemon and Pistachio Christmas Cake (P650), Dresden Stollen Bread with Marzipan (P530), and Holiday Cookie Box (P610).
And of course the giving of gifts from Santa was one of the most awaited part specially for children that are in the area.

An Experience to Remember @ Aternum Garden Park
Are you tired and sick of having things done over and over again or being in a traditional mode of doing or celebrating such event in the same way every year?
Last All Saints day, we experience a different kind of celebrating the season, Aeternum gives their customers and owners of every lot a bunch of food kiosk that are very affordable and prices are just right and more cheaper than the convenience store. Brickfire , KFC , Frutas and Potato Fries are just the few that are available there. We are overwhelmed by an Open Movie Experience that is too good to be true a High Definition LED Panel which uses an extraordinary lens makes it more clearer and the movie begins with a Love Story , horror ect.
if only, pagpag, what dreams may come, world war z, all my life, fault in our stars, conjuring. A different kind of movies that would capture whichever and whatever kind of gen-re you may be in.
Before the start of the movie proper, an Ecumenical Mass was held inside the church properties to commemorate and celebrate the All Saints Day and for the living to remember the deeds and some recollections of what kind of life should we live as an individual. Thus doing the positive side of what the departed person contributes and of course for the negative things that has been done ,just treating it as a lesson so that people may learn not to do it for the sake of self respect and for the people that will be affected as well.
This may struck some attention specially the oldies, yet Aeternum remains to be balance and equally caters even to the young ones , giving them the right to enjoy their stay with their parted love ones.
That’s why during the time specially when the night is almost at hand you may see a group of Family or friends that is seated on the grassy part of the garden being more close to each other , having a family bonding, and an intimate quality time with each other makes it more memorable to every individual that is in the venue.
