Last Saturday, May 31, 2014 one of the biggest gathering of pop-culture enthusiasts and toy collectors coverage at the country’s one stop, nonstop tourism destination, Resorts World Manila, hosts one of the biggest pop-culture in the country with the kick start launch of TOYCON 2014 at the Plaza in Newport Mall via a special exhibit .
RMW lets the young and young at heart get their fill of the hottest toys, latest comic books, rare collectibles, and action figures.
The event also assemble a wide line of toys and childhood memorabilia from collectors, cos-players, gamers and artists from around the country which annually draws out the most eclectic group of individuals for the love of novelty.
Seven exhibitors have confirmed their participation for the event including Toy Kingdom, Arigatoys, Big Boy’s Toy Store, Filbars, Pacific Licensing, War Gaming and Cherry Credits.
More Toy exhibits are showcased at the ground floor level of the Newport Mall, including one from the Pinoy Sixth Scale Collectors, Custom Transformers Toys, and Maxi Collector and Revoltech.
A parade of superheroes and other thrilling highlights of the grand event include the World Summit Philippines cosplay elimination round. The summit is the preliminary leg for aspiring Filipino cosplayers who want to represent the country and compete at the Annual World Cosplayers Summit held in Japan. Awarding of cosplay winners happens at 7pm at the Plaza.
Coinciding with the ToyCon 2014 exhibit is a special program with the presentations on the latest superhero movies as well as the celebration of Batman’s 75th Anniversary. Kpop dancers and band performances are the one who makes the program more lively and band performances are also slated to hype up the event.
