Last March 19, 2014 was a jam packed open Press Conference of One FC held at SM Mall of Asia Atrium for One FC's press conference announcing the "Rise of Heroes" to be scheduled on May 2 in Manila. The main protagonists for the stacked card were in attendance including One FC bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes of Brazil who will be risking his title against One FC bantamweight grand prix winner Masakatsu Ueda of Japan.
Through an interpreter, Ueda announced his readiness for his shot at the title and said he is training very hard in his pursuit to be hailed as the best fighter in his weight class. Fernandes, on the other hand, stated that the title will stay in his waist and no one can take it away from him.
In a featherweight clash, "Ruthless" Rob Lisita of Australia will face Japanese fighter Yusuke Kawanago in a highly anticipated rematch as the featured under card fight. Lista promised to come forward and 'beat the hell' out of his opponent. "I'm a different fighter from the first time we met and if Kawanago will not run, One of us will be hurt seriously," said Lisita. Kawanago shout back saying that even if the two fighters fought multiple times, the result will be the same. "I'll walk away the victor in this fight," Kawango exclaimed.
Philippine bet Eugene Toquero will also battle top flyweight Gianni Subba. Toquero said, "I dont have game plan in all of my fights, I will just come forward and beat you up." Subba answered with some advice for Toquero and told him to "stop worrying about his hair, because he will pull it with him from pillar to post". Even One FC's top brass Victor Cui couldn't lay a finger on Toquero's hair when he attempted and was told "Don't dare touch my hair or else,".
