UNO Magazine releases The Mocha Girls Special

IMG_0307
If you think that they are just a simple girl group who gets TV time by dancing and singing on variety shows, think again.
A New batch of Mocha girls talents were launched last December 17 at the OFF The Grill Timog , and a live show will be held afterwards.
There is more to the Mocha Girls than just skin deep attraction.
Landing on the cover of UNO, the ultimate guide for men in the Philippines, proves there is more to them than just fleshy beauty. This pop all-girl group has seen its share of beautiful faces come and go, but one thing that has remained constant is the founder and the person who lent her name to the group, ringleader Mocha Uson. IMG_0352 Mocha says what keeps the group going is the drive to reinvent itself. The current members minus Mocha were not there when Mocha Girls started seven years ago. But Mae, Franz, Seika, Georgina, Jhane with Mocha have found a way to use each other's strengths and complement these to form a cohesive, well-oiled pop group that thrives on reinvention. Mocha Girls has earned its share of awards for pop hits and with every new song it has released, continues to prove they are not a one-hit girl-group wonder. IMG_0356 Mae uses her sweet personality to create the group's choreography; Franz comes across as the anti-thesis to pop with her naughty hip-hop moves; Jhane is both rocker-chic and alluring belly dancer; Seika provides the J-Pop flavor; Georgina brings the fashionista model to the stage and bringing it all together is Mocha, post-modern feminist and superwoman in one sexy, smart package. IMG_0451 In this issue of UNO magazine, readers and Mocha Girls will be treated to a very visual feast of the girls in different titillating poses. And lots of skin bared too. But what makes this UNO issue even more special is the informative featurettes on each member of the group. It provides a rare glimpse into how the girls think, how they feel about things and situations around them--generally, it's like a one-on-one date with a girl you like. IMG_0453 And the surprise bonus? The issue contains a free calendar inside, featuring, of course, the Mocha Girls. Go ahead, treat yourself to a dose of Mocha and her girls. It's gonna be well worth it to find out what gets these six ladies going, moving, and rising up. UNO magazine is available in all leading bookstores and magazine stands nationwide. Visit them in their website , www.unomagazine.com.ph Follow them on twitter: @UNOmag                                    FB: UNOmagazine                                    IG: UNOmagazine                                    #unolovesmocha For more pictures on the said event pls. click this link, https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.540665729363119.1073742028.348405828589111&type=3

Earth Day Jam Post Event

FLYER PHOTO b
Climate change is a pressing reality. With typhoons, floods, earthquakes and other environmental disasters looming, our Mother Earth has obviously chosen to cry out loud. But does the general public know the different causes of these calamities? Do they even care? Or has the all too familiar "it won't happen in my lifetime" concept gotten into everyone's heads? rivermaya on stage The Philippines' longest running environmental awareness concert, Earth Day Jam, has brought together some of the country's biggest pop music artists, celebrities, public personalities, Socio-Civic groups, concerned companies and of course the general public for over 13 years now. Through his musical tribute for Mother Earth, they address the most pressing environmental issues affecting the globe, most especially the Philippines, and push for aggressive community based and individual centered participative action. lou live wd video More than just a concert event, they continuously bombard their audience (predominantly teenagers) with audio visual presentations highlighting the importance of environmental preservation. Various speakers are also allowed speak and thereby give a certain "academic touch" as many of the facts and figures they give are rarely seen on Youtube or Facebook these days. Effective? Well many of the Youth who participated voiced out their reactions online such as: "SalamatEarthday Jam! Sobrang dami naming natutunan!" and "Next year ulit! Let's take care of the Earth! Buti naman may magandang asal na ang tinuturo ng mga banda!" artists rivermaya, nina, lou wd hosts karel marquez & midi g at airport With its highly publicized success in Manila, Earth Day Jam sought to conquer new shores with its "Earth Day Jam on Tour." Armed with a small group of solid artists, musicians and the entire creative team, they brought the same "Movement Through Music" concept to other parts of the country. Kicking it off at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu, Earth Day Jam opened the concert to a jampacked crowd with inspired performances from local bandsBambuSpliff, Dance With me Kris and Kaliftra. The Cebuanos however, got loose only during the solid performances of Manila's premier Manila artists .They were mesmerized with eco-artist-producer Lou Bonnevie performing with much gusto and wit that got the audience up to their feet. Rivermaya, Nina and Noel Cabangon was at their best elements. The group then flew off to Dumaguete for another jampacked performance, only this time to be joined by local band, Skillage and Acoustic icon Paolo Santos in Robinsons’ Activity Center. In less than a week, Earth Day Jam then visited the Marquee Mall in the beautiful city of Pampanga with an added performance by the Bloomfields. speakers The events, hosted by Karel Marquez, Midi G. and Danica Sotto, all stayed true to their roots. Their main purpose and the all important theme of environmentalism was never forgotten. "Green" games were played, and seedlings from partner government agency DENR were given to the audience. Environmental guest speakers taught everyone a thing or two about how they themselves could help in the fight against climate change. Several Audio visual presentations as collated and produced by Earthday jam Director Toto Gentica swept the minds of the youngsters that the only way we can mitigate the ill effects of manmade pollution is by making a concerted effort in doing the little things that matter such as . RELIEF GOODS Several relief goods were given by the audience in support of the typhoon survivors. KUDOS to the organizers and supporters Ayala Center Cebu,Robinsons’ Place Dumaguete, Marquee Mall Pampanga with Energy Development Corporation, Manhattan Suites Inn, Gery’s Grill , City Government of Cebu &Dumaguete, Provincial Government of Negros Oriental and The Philippine Star . Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove Opens the Disney Vault with Tales Spanning from the First Animated Film to the 50th

IMG_8497
During the Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove Press Conference held November 29 2013 at the Gloria Maris Banquet Hall in Gateway Mall, the press was treated to a preview of what will happen in the most anticipated ice show in the country. ‘'They will celebrate 50 golden years of their journey and unforgettable experience of doing such kind of Shows in the Ice. And they will once again show and highlights almost all of the characters since the start of their endeavor. It will be one of the most finest shows that will be showed in every country this year and that includes the Philippines.
 IMG_8508 IMG_8518
When Mickey and Minnie mouse comes to the stage we the media people was catered once again to the world of magic and once again remembered our childhood memories with countless shows they have done including movies as well . Two Child was lucky enough to be with them even in picture takings.
Treasure Trove - Fab 4
Hit the ice with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald, and Goofy as they embark on a treasure hunt for some of the most popular Disney films ever. Audiences will experience a medley of their favorite animated Disney movies throughout the years including the very first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and the 50th Disney film, Tangled. With eight movies and more than 50 Disney characters featured, Feld Entertainment’s Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove has a story for every generation.
TreasureTrove-LionKing
“We’ve chosen some of the greatest gems from the Disney treasure chest for this production,” says Producer Nicole Feld. “We went through our entire portfolio of Disney On Ice shows, trying to bring something very different to audiences. We wanted to pick action-packed stories that really resonated with not only kids today, but with their parents as well. Treasure Trove has everything from the swashbuckling pirates in Peter Pan to the comedic duo Timon and Pumbaa in The Lion King.”
Before the action begins, audiences have the opportunity to get fit with a taste of what Disney On Ice skaters do to prepare themselves for every show. Disney/Pixar’s The Incredibles lead a warm-up routine that will have everyone up on their feet. Audiences will stretch with Mrs. Incredible, run in place with Dash, pump iron with Mr. Incredible, and work up some extra energy with Violet. The warm-up routine promotes keeping kids active, while also allowing them to participate in the show.
Treasure Trove - Rapunzel and Flynn with lanterns closeup
“Crowd interaction is a key component to the Disney On Ice experience. We want the audience to feel as if they’re a part of the show, and that’s evident in this production,” says Producer Juliette Feld. “Rapunzel and Flynn share a special moment with an audience member when they release a lantern together, Sebastian invites everyone to be a part of the rhythm during ‘Under the Sea,’ Peter Pan and Tinker Bell encourage the crowd to echo the crocodile’s ‘tick tock,’ and Aladdin stops to shake hands with guests in Agrabah.”
Treasure Trove - Peter Pan and Captain Hook
Audiences will be amazed to see how many of their favorite Disney films and characters are featured. The show includes moments from classic Disney films like Peter Pan, The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid, as well as new favorites Tangled and Princess and the Frog.
Bringing such a wide variety of Disney animated features to life presented an interesting challenge for the show’s creative team. “I love the contrast between the very first animated Disney treasure, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and the most recent, Tangled,” says director Patty Vincent. “I went back to the archives to re-watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, so that I could appreciate the fact that we’re going from the 1930s to today in one production. It’s amazing to see where we came from and where we are now, not only with the animation but also with the storytelling.”
The first story in the production takes audiences to Wonderland where Alice, the Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and the White Rabbit are “Painting the Roses Red” for the Queen of Hearts. The Queen beckons forth her army of cards in an amazing illusion constructed by Choreographer Cindy Stuart. “We have a complete set of cards that are two-faced, which made choreographing this number really unique. I tried to trick the eye of the audience by having the cards skate in all directions. The crowd will have to figure out whether the performers are skating forwards or backwards,” says Stuart.
Audiences will then escape to Never Land with Peter Pan and hang out in the Lost Boys’ hideout, complete with a slide. To keep up with the fast pace of transitioning through so many of Disney’s treasured tales, Production Designer James Youmans had to create a versatile set, that could be quickly modified. “The set consists of several pieces that detach from one another, allowing us to rearrange it and even move pieces, such as the hideout, to the center of the ice,” says Youmans. “By being able to rotate the set, we can convert Captain Hook’s pirate ship into an enchanted castle. Having a set that transforms into different scenes is vital when there are multiple stories in one production.”
As the show progresses the lighting takes center stage, transporting the audience directly into the heart of each tale. Lighting Designer Jesse Blevins uses a variety of techniques to set the mood, adding emotion and depth to every scene of the show. For the beginning of The Lion King, Blevins lights the ice with warm hues of yellow, orange, and gold creating a peaceful early morning. As the story continues and Simba finds himself in trouble, Blevins’ dramatic lighting and dark shadows, along with the sound of hooves, make audiences feel as if they’re with Simba in the direct path of the wildebeests. “Lighting is so important in storytelling. It really adds a theatrical element and takes the audience from one story to the next, in the blink of an eye,” says Blevins.
The production concludes with a captivating parade of all nine Disney Princesses, bringing the production to a final culmination of excitement and adventure. With an extraordinary lineup of hit songs, memorable scenes and timeless characters, Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove will have audiences reliving the magic of Disney’s most cherished animated films all over again.
Disney on Ice presents Treasure Trove will run from December 25, 2013 to January 5, 2014.
Disney on Ice presents Treasure Trove is a holiday presentation of the Araneta Center,  PLDT MyDSL and VISA in cooperation with Magnolia Chocolait, Business World, Crowne Plaza Hotel, JAC Motors Phils., and Blims Furniture. Earth Day Jam Goes on Tour !

 IMG_7838
Last November 21 Earthday Jam launch this month’s tour in Celebration at Trinoma Activity Center  with the Clean Air Month for us to be more aware of what we are going through as a nation . And may this be a start for us to always be on our guard and be vigilant on conserving the mother earth having our waste be on the right disposal system . Our earth had been taking a lot of our abuse- from throwing of our garbage to the land, sea and the air, to harvesting more and more resources just to feed our insatiable greed- and the effects are as equally devastating. We are getting fewer areas where we can have fresh, breathable air , the sea levels are getting warmer which yields stronger and more powerful storms, and yet it seems that people are not learning from what the earth is trying to tell us. IMG_7841 IMG_8001
Earthday Jam Foundation, a non-profit organization which imbeds conscious awareness to the public the importance of environmental preservation through music, communication and arts, has produced various environmental projects since the year 2000. And every year since then, artist couple Lou Bonnevie and Toto Gentica have extended their advocacy from a few people who attended the very first Earthday Jam in an enclosed bar, to crowds who rocked open-space venues around the metro.
This year, before Earthday Jam goes outside Metro Manila to bring their advocacy on saving Mother Earth to more Filipinos. The foundation will be kicking it off with their 2013 Clean Air Concert at the Trinoma on November 21,2013, in line with the celebration of the Clean Air Month. There will be booths that are open for donations for the relief and aid of Yolanda survivors during the event and everyone attending is urged to extend a helping hand. After that, Earthday Jam Foundation will roll it out in the Terraces, Ayala Center, Cebu City on November 23, 2013. Dumaguete City will also join the jam at the Robinsons Place Dumaguete’s main Atrium on November 24, 2013 and on November 30, 2013, Marquee Mall’s Activity Center in Pampanga City will be also filled with music and other activities- all for saving Mother Earth. Earthday Jam On Tour will feature the performances by Rivermaya, Lou Bonnevie, Nina, Paolo Santos, Noel Cabangon, and each of the provinces very own local talent, hosted by Karyl Marquez and Midi G. Aside from sending a message to more Filipinos across the country , Earthday Jam On Tour is more than just jam for these communities. lou “It’s not that easy to do.” Ms. Bonnevie explains her thoughts on mounting Earthday Jam for more than a decade now and is still pushing for more aggressive efforts in sending their message across more people,” but the gratification is coming from the audience and from the people that we touch. Hopefully in the future, we already toured around the Philippines and maybe around Asia too.” “We can be united to work, through every little way we know, on how to save the environment-not- not tomorrow-but now, !” Ms. Bonnevie emphatically adds. To know more about Earthday Jam Foundation and its efforts, like their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/EarthdayJamFoundation or call 8976991
